SICK S3000

The S3000 Safety Laser Scanner is a laser measurement system that provides robust indoor/outdoor range readings in a 2D field of view, as well as safety zone output. When the safety laser senses an object within a defined field of view, it will output a signal that can be used to flag a safety condition or halt a robot’s movement.

Velodyne HDL-64E S2

3D Laser Scanner – Specifically designed for obstacle detection and navigation of AGVs, this model features a 360° field of view and over 1.3 million points per second output rate. Range: 120m.

Velodyne HDL-32E

3D Laser Scanner – Features 32 lasers across a 40° field of view that rotate to reveal 360° horizontally. Generates a point cloud of 700,000 points per second. Range: 70m.

Delphi Electronically Scanning Radar

ESR combines a wide field of view at mid-range with long-range coverage. Supports lane navigation, vehicle and pedestrian detection.

Axis M1013 Network Camera

The M1013 offers cost-effective video quality at 30 frames per second in SVGA resolution. Provides multiple individually configurable video streams in H.264 and Motion JPEG.

Axis P5512e PTZ Dome Camera

This weather-proof dome camera features 360° pan with 12x optical zoom and H.264 video stream. It has IP66- and NEMA 4x-rated protection against dust, rain and snow.

Point Grey Bumblebee BB2

This compact stereo camera is popular within the research community. It offers 2 640×480 colour CCD cameras separated by a 12 cm baseline. Stereo cameras are used for 3D mapping, object recognition and navigation. Can be mounted on a pan-tilt unit to increase coverage.

Point Grey Flea3

A high quality, compact mono-lens camera for advanced machine vision research. This 1.2 megapixel color camera offers a high frame rate, global shutter, and good dynamic range characteristics.

Occam Omni 60

Omni 60 combines 5 camera sensors to capture 360° panoramic video at 60Hz, for applications including localization and mapping, telepresence, videography, augmented reality, and surveillance. Available in monochrome or color.

Microsoft Kinect 2

Kinect 2 is an integrated sensor suite designed for the Xbox one gaming platform. The sensor includes a time of flight camera, 1080p resolution video camera and microphone. Kinect 2 can be used for tracking people and objects and requires considerable computing power.

Garmin GPS-18x 5Hz

A small, cost-effective GPS sensor that offers 5Hz position and velocity reports. Features 12-parallel-channels and is WAAS-enabled.

NovAtel SMART6-L 2 cm L1/L2

The rugged SMART6 antenna with integrated receiver allows for 1.2m accuracy positioning using both the L1 and L2 signal bands across multiple constellations. The unit supports LBAND satellite based corrections from the TERRASTAR-D subscription service at additional cost.

NovAtel SMART6-L 2 cm L1/L2 RTK Terrastar Rover Unit

The rugged SMART6 antenna with integrated receiver allows for 1.2m accuracy positioning using both the L1 and L2 signal bands, and is enabled to receive RTK (RealTimeKinetic) corrections from a Clearpath base station or other source. RTK accuracy: 2 cm after signal fix.

MicroStrain 3DM GX3-25

A high-accuracy attitude heading reference system that utilizes MEMS sensor technology. The sensor combines a triaxial accelerometer, gyro and magnetometer, temperature sensors and on-board processor. Inertial measurement data is typically incorporated into pose calculations to improve localization estimation.

CH Robotics UM-6

The low-cost UM-6 inertial measurement unit provides orientation measurements using Euler Angles and quaternions. Also reports raw and processed sensor data from accelerometers, rate gyros and magnetic sensors. Can interface with external GPS.

Applanix 2020 Multibeam SONAR

The R2 Sonic and integrated Applanix Wavemaster GNSS-INS provide a survey grade mutlibeam-echosounder solution for the Heron USV. Carry out harbor or coastal terrain mapping at up to 120m depth with 130° swath coverage and 256-1024 beams of echosounder data.

Imagenex DeltaT Multibeam SONAR

DeltaT 837T Multibeam profiling sonar may be integrated with the Kingfisher USV to carry out research tasks ranging from hydrographic surveys to assisting in positioning underwater AUVs. Up to 300m depth with 260KHz transducers. The unit is mounted below the Kingfishers’ user bay to provide between 120 and 480 beams of echosounder data.

AML X-Series Velocity Profiler

Used in conjunction with an echosounder to detect and record local variations in sound velocity. When used alongside a sonar on the Kingfisher, the Micro-X can assist in providing high accuracy bathymetry data by provided sound velocity corrections. Can be lowered from the USV to generate profiles over depth.

Ohmex SONARM8

SonarM8 single beam echosounder is used to generate survey quality depth data when coupled with a high grade GPS system. It functions at 235Khz with a beam-width of 10 degrees at depths up to 75m. The unit is mounted on a removable plate below the user bay of the Kingfisher.

Manipulators and Actuators

Universal Robots UR10

Universal’s 6 degree of freedom manipulators are strong, precise and rugged. The UR10 may be mounted on a Ridgeback or Grizzly in combination with a variety of end effectors and Force Torque sensors. The UR10 has a reach radius of 1300mm and payload of up to 10kg.

Universal Robots UR5

Universal’s 6 degree of freedom manipulators are strong, precise and rugged. The UR5 may be mounted on a Husky or Ridgeback in combination with a variety of end effectors and Force Torque sensors.  The UR5 has a reach radius of 850mm and payload of up to 5kg.

Universal Robots UR3

Universal’s 6 degree of freedom manipulators are strong, precise and rugged. The UR3 may be mounted on a Husky in combination with a variety of end effectors and Force Torque sensors. The UR3 has a reach radius of 500mm and payload of up to 3kg.

Kinova JACO

The JACO Manipulator is lightweight, ergonomic, and safe to use in proximity of people. With a reach of 90cm and max payload (when extended) of 1.5kg, this 3-fingered arm is ideal for handling everyday objects delicately. The JACO arm includes joint torque feedback.

Kinova MICO

MICO can reach 70cm and has a max payload of 750g (when extended). Each joint of the 2-fingered arm has advanced sensing capabilities for torque, current, and much more.

Rethink Robotics Baxter

Baxter is a collaborative robot designed for light manufacturing and order fulfillment. It includes two compliant arms, a camera and interactive display. Clearpath’s Ridgeback easily integrates with Baxter to provide mobility, power and software support.

Rethink Robotics Sawyer

Sawyer is a performance collaborative robot specializing in precise tasks impractical for industrial robots. Sawyer weighs only 19kg and features 7 degrees of freedom with more than 1m reach.

Barrett WAM Arm

The WAM arm is extremely precise and controllable, with the ability to record and transmit forces in master slave interfaces, haptics research and precision manipulation. This cable-driven, 4 degree of freedom actuator can transmit 390 Newtons of force.

Barrett BH8-282 Hand

This three fingered gripper operates with 4 degrees for freedom. The fingers actuate independently, and two fingers can rotate from opposition to alignment with the thumb. The gripper is capable of carrying up to a 6 kg payload with a 330 mm stroke.

Robotiq 3 Fingered Gripper

This compliant gripper is industrial grade and programmable. With a grip force of 15-60N and weight of only 2.3kg, it can handle payloads up to 10kg.

2 Fingered Gripper

With a stroke of 85mm and payload of 5kg, this programmable gripper can handle a variety of objects. It exerts a force of 5-220N and weighs only 0.85 kg.

Robotiq 6-Axis Force Torque Sensor

Designed for force and position control in teach and repeat applications.

FLIR PTU D46-17

This pan tilt unit is designed for high-speed, accurate positioning of camera, laser, antenna, or other payloads up to 6 lbs at speeds up to 300 degrees/second.

FLIR PTU-D48

Designed for harsh environments, these fully wheatherized (IP 67) pan-tilt units include integrated controllers and slip-rings for payload signals. They can accomodate integrated Ethernet, high-resolution digital encoders, and programmable ranges of motion for payloads up to 15 lbs.

Computers and Networking

Mini-ITX

Consists of an Intel Core-i5 processor, 8GB of DDR3 RAM and a 120GB Solidstate drive to provide serious computing power to mobile robots. The system can be customized or upgraded to add more processing power, RAM, storage and Geforce GTX750 Ti GPU. This unit comes integrated in the Husky with Ubuntu, ROS and all software drivers installed and configured.

Fit-PC3

The FitPC3 is a baseline fanless computing system perfect for running vehicle control software and interfacing with sensors. The unit comes preinstalled with Ubuntu, ROS and software drivers. This unit is used at the core of Clearpath robots such as the Grizzly RUV.

Intel NUC

The Intel-NUC provides Intel-Core level processing in an extremely small form factor, perfect for space and power constrained robots. Equipped with up to 16GB of RAM and 802.11a/c wireless and Bluetooth, this system is available for Clearpath’s Husky with Ubuntu and ROS preinstalled.

Nvidia Jetson

The Nvidia Jetson TK1 Board is an ARM-Cortex A15 computing and Tegra K1 GPU system which will enable your robot to carry out CUDA parallel computing with 192 cores in a small form factor. The unit is capable of running ROS and many of the associated packages and drivers.

Long Range Wireless Network Station

Microhard broadband technology provides a long range WiFi and serial link to robots in the field. These radios function on the 802.11 standard at either 2.4GHz b/g or 5.8Ghz a/n MIMO. A communications link with L-Com omnidirectional antennas can provide WiFi at distances up to 1km. DGPS corrections can be transmitted across the included serial link when GPS-RTK positioning is required.

Entact W-Series

The W-Series Haptic devices use directly driven levers, not gears, to offer the most transparent bilateral interface of any commercially available device. Available in 3, 5, 6 or 7 Degree of freedom configurations, the W-Series devices may be outfitted with custom end effectors or sensors.

HRI Safe remote control system

Safe Remote Control System (SRCS) is a medium- to long-range wireless remote controller designed to enable the safe operation of remote and automated systems. It provides a rugged, ergonomic, controller combined with emergency ESTOP button.

HRI Wireless emergency stop

A wireless, flashlight sized E-Stop for human in the loop oversight of large or dangerous machinery.

TORC Safestop

The SafeStop wireless emergency stop system provides a safety link to protect both employees and equipment from potential dangers.

Autech LK4

A pushbutton handset with 4 main pushbuttons, either single- or double-step, plus Start and Stop. Has large pushbuttons, removable activation key, side pushbutton or toggle switch (optional), quick frequency change, nylon-fiberglass hard compound case, shock-proof with IP65 protection degree, resistant to acids, oils and atmospheric agents.

Panasonic Toughbook

Panasonic Toughbook rugged laptops are engineered to withstand drops, spills, dust and grime, and to perform in the harshest environments. These rugged computers are well suited for field robotics.

Getac F110 Tablet

The F110 is a rugged tablet computer with an Intel 5 core processor, WIFI and 11.6 in screen. The F110 is ideal for remote control, telemetry feedback and customized user interfaces.

Infrastructure

VICON Motion Capture System

The VICON Motion Capture Systems is the best way of measuring true localization of dynamic objects. These systems are able to track up to 100 objects with sub-millimetre accuracy, with a sampling rate of up to 1000 Hz.

Laboratory set-up

Clearpath offers complete laboratory commissioning for systems including Mobile Robot platforms, Vicon Motion capture, Quadrotor UAV, as well as wireless and computing infrastructure. We install, and network equipment, and provide training and continuing support.

UAV Lab Control with VICON Toolboxes

Clearpath offers a variety of libraries for UAV labs including: multi-robot simulation support, velocity and position controllers, MATLAB and ROS code examples; and support for Physical and Simulated robot feedback in the RViz environment.
